IAP brings students from Zaragoza (ZLOG) and Columbia (GCLOG) to join us MLOGgers here at MIT. For two weeks, students from all three programs worked together on leadership development and team building. We were broken into groups of 5 or 6 and given a company to run with two products to sell, three global regions to service and fierce competition (from the other teams). It was a great integration of all the coursework from the fall semester in one supply chain exercise as well as a fun way to meet our colleagues in other programs.
At the end of this week, we will all travel to Zaragoza, Spain for the final week of IAP! Zaragoza is a logistics hub and we have lots of tours of facilities already planned. Many of us will also take a long weekend in Spain and explore another city before returning home to begin our final semester.
One of the great things about IAP (independent activities period) is that the schedule is a bit different. We have lots of guest speakers, team building workshops, time to work on thesis and take tours of plants in the area. Last week, we all prepared posters of our thesis work to share with our corporate sponsors and each other. It was a great chance to see what everyone else is up to.
Taking a break from the session to pose for a picture: Marcus, Thomas, Liliana, Yogi, Gabriel, Nuno, and Sooduck.
Action shot of the poster session.
We will be hosting a webinar with both MLOG and ZLOG students to discuss what its like to be in this program! Its this Thursday, Jan 21st at 3pm. Hope to hear from some of you then!
